20 years of NOA

NOA is an Albanian financial institution specialized in the microfinance sector, initiated 20 years ago as a USAID project. The goal of this project was ambitious: in a country without a legacy of education and entrepreneurial capital, a small microfinance initiative could potentially bring about a change in the reality of doing business in the country. After two decades of funding and constant expansion of activity, NOA has finally emerged from the incubation of a project supported by the community of foreign donors, to become a sustainable, performing, independent, and self-funded financial institution. 

NOA activity is based on what is widely known as social finance. This is about creating a quality human relationship with customers, so that the funding lines are as adapted as possible to the micro-reality of the beneficiary. Social finance also includes investing in the promotion of financial education, not only supporting the formalization of the activity of the farmer or small entrepreneur, but also promoting the expansion of his activity, both economically and humanly. 

This 20th anniversary of NOA symbolizes a cornerstone in our activity. It is a moment that symbolizes the great weight of past investments to achieve today's consolidation, but at the same time the opportunity to lay new foundations, for ambitions greater than those of the past. Therefore, this anniversary today is the confirmation of a fair and successful journey in the service of the Albanian family, farm and small enterprise. It is only thanks to the increase of funding for this group that we can help the development of rural areas in the country, the reduction of youth emigration and the abandonment of the country. We aim and should be on the side of individuals who have ambitions for themselves, for their family, for their business.

NOA strongly believes in the strength of the Albanian entrepreneur, in the innovation, in the challenging mentality of every ambitious entrepreneur. For 20 years, we have tried our best to realize the ambitions that result not only from our activity, but also from our international exposure in order to implement the best practices of the microfinance sector and invest in dozens of trainings and international expertise. In this sense, we are proud of the standard we manage to produce under our Albanian flag and that we work hard to never lag behind the developments of European microfinance best practices.

After 20 years of activity, we can say without any fear that NOA has succeeded in this ambition. This has been our mission in the past. This will be our mission for the future as well: to offer the best, the highest standard, at any time, in any place and at any stage for the Albanian entrepreneur, farmer and family.
